Internet on phone gets even safer
We are taking an important step towards development and implementation of new solutions in order to help LMT customers feel safe and comfortable in the internet environment.
As of 1 March this year, all LMT Internet on Phone services* will be upgraded with a warning functionality to alert about potentially unsafe websites.
There is no need to set up anything new – the new functionality will be implemented automatically, at no additional charge.
What does this mean?
Not all websites are safe or can be trusted, but this is not always obvious. When trying to access an unsafe website, a warning will appear on your phone screen, thus alerting you about potential threats encountered on the website such as malware, a virus, or any signs of a scam website. However, this will in no way affect your internet use, because you will still have the final word as to whether stay on the website or leave the website.
How does this new functionality work?
The new functionality is based on databases which store information on the identified unsafe websites (e.g. CERT, etc.). The information included in the databases is subject to constant updates and adjustments.
Why are these changes really important?
A total of 21.61 million threats from 2.6 million attacker sites were detected in December 2024.** We are therefore making every effort to develop and implement solutions to help LMT customers make the safest possible decisions in the internet environment.
* Applicable to the following LMT services: Internet on Phone 5 GB, Internet on Phone 500 MB, Independence, Schoolchild Deal, Youth Deal, First Grader Deal, For Seniors+, Freedom in Europe VIP, and LMT Karte.
