      New NIS 2 Directive – cybersecurity requirements in the Europe Union

      The NIS2 Directive (lv) adopted in 2022, compared to NIS 1, covers a significantly wider number of industries that must comply with the new cybersecurity regulations. The requirements of NIS 2 in Latvia will be determined by the National Cyber Security Law (lv) and the binding Cabinet of Ministers regulations (still in the drafting stage).

      Time plan for the implementation of the Directive in Latvia

      From May 2024 it is planned to gradually introduce the requirements of the new NIS 2 Directive. The purpose of the Directive is to ensure a uniformly high level of cybersecurity throughout the European Union.
