Warning of potentially unsafe websites
In order to contribute to the safety of personal equipment of LMT internet service users (hereinafter also the customer) in the internet environment (against such threats as phishing, ransomware, spam, coin miners, worms, trojans, etc.), a built-in service functionality (hereinafter also the warning functionality) alerts LMT internet service users about potentially unsafe websites. The DNS Resolver security solution used in the warning functionality prevents access to malicious and unsafe websites by redirecting the customer to a secure information page detailing the threat, thus leaving the choice of whether to visit the website to the customer (unless access to the website is denied according to statutory requirements).
Important!
- The warning functionality is installed and updated automatically.
- The warning functionality is provided only within the LMT network, it is not available outside the LMT network, as well as when the customer uses any Wi-Fi network without the safety warning functionality of the service.
- The warning functionality does not protect already infected customer equipment, nor does it protect the customer from unsafe websites outside the DNS Resolver solution.
- No solution can guarantee 100% security against threats on the internet. It is the responsibility of the customer to take any additional safety measures in order to secure the network used by the equipment against cybersecurity threats and to use the equipment network in a responsible and secure manner. The warning functionality does not protect the customer from risks arising from his or her own actions.
- Internet access services provide access to the internet and all its endpoints regardless of the network technology and terminal equipment used by the customer, with exceptions according to statutory requirements.
- LMT is the maintainer and developer of the warning functionality. The warning functionality is provided in cooperation with the cybersecurity company Whalebone, using the custom DNS Resolver security solution developed by this service provider.
- LMT has the right to make changes to the warning functionality at any time and at its own discretion.
Information relating to the processing of personal data
- In respect of the processing of personal data as part of the warning functionality, LMT is the data controller and Whalebone is the processor. Within the scope of the services provided by LMT, data are processed only to the extent and for the period of time arising from the nature of the service and the binding statutory requirements. In order to provide the warning functionality to customers, basic personal data may be processed, as well as electronic communications metadata, i.e. information related to the provision of electronic communications services. The abovementioned information includes the DNS query requested by the customer, the DNS response, the timestamp, the IP address. The purpose of the processed data is to enable the supply of the service, including the related quality, security, and resolution of reported issues, if any, as well as compliance with binding statutory provisions.
- The basis for data processing: LMT service contract and implementation of related statutory provisions. Such processing is a precondition for the performance of the transaction, and failure to provide the data may partially or completely delay or interrupt the provision of the transaction. When processing personal data, technical and organisational measures, including safety measures, are applied to ensure adequate protection of personal data.
- Within the scope of the warning functionality, data recipients may be used, i.e. service providers, to whom LMT might need to provide data if it is functionally necessary for the provision and technical maintenance of the warning functionality, including the transfer in encrypted form of certain pseudonymised data for processing in third countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. The applied data encryption and pseudonymisation technique corresponds to a high security standard and the latest technology. In addition to these measures, other technical and organisational measures have been applied.
- Please refer to LMT Privacy Policy for more information about LMT policy for personal data protection and the rights of data subjects.
