How to start using

• On the tablet – you only need a special LMT Mobile internet SIM card to be inserted into the tablet.

• On a laptop – if you do not have a computer with a built-in mobile internet modem, you will only need a special LMT Mobile internet SIM card, which must be inserted into the modem that you will connect to the computer.  

These devices, as well as a mobile internet connection, can be purchased at a favourable price in the LMT e-store, as well as in the nearest LMT Customer Centre. We will help you with advice so that you can choose the type of mobile internet and device that best suits your needs. We recommend that you also read the user manual of the device, but feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

For users of “Mobile Internet STARTS”

When you want to use the internet, you will be able to purchase a one-time volume for a day (24h) or a week (168h). It can be connected at any LMT Customer Centre, as well as via text message – send* MID (for the day) or MIN (for the week) to the number 1688. 

Changing the connection type

If it turns out that another type of internet connection is more suitable for you, you can change it at any time – the most convenient way to do it is at My LMT. The same can be done at any LMT Customer Centre, as well as via text message – send* MI10, MI30, MI70 or MIB to the number 1688. 

Take note! If you are using a device that does not support text messaging (e.g. Apple iPad), insert your SIM card into any other mobile phone and send a text message from it. 

When the internet volume is used up

If you use the connection “Mobile Internet STARTS”

When the one-time daily or weekly amount is used up or expires, the internet will be disabled. You can re-purchase the one-time amount or connect another type of "Mobile Internet" with included monthly amount. 

If you use the "Mobile Internet" connection 10 GB, 30 GB or 70 GB

When the included amount of internet is used up, you can buy a one-time additional amount, connect another type of mobile internet or use the internet with a fee per megabyte.

If additional volume is needed rarely or only in special cases, we offer the opportunity to purchase 1 GB of Internet for €1.16 with a validity period until the end of the month via text message. Open the modem program on your computer and send the text message * VOLUME to the number 1688. If you are using a device that does not provide text messaging (e.g. Apple iPad), you can also send the text message from any LMT postpaid mobile phone (the fee for the internet volume will be included in LMT invoice of this customer). In that case, you should write VOLUME and your mobile internet connection number in the text message* (e.g. VOLUME 12345678).

With 4G, you will be able to enjoy remarkable speed (the maximum theoretical speed of LTE technology – 150 Mbit/s – is up to seven times higher than 3G and DSL), lightning-fast loading of websites, videos and games, as well as flawless music streaming.

Please note!

• Mobile internet in the 4G network can be used with a suitable 4G tablet, mobile internet modem or laptop with a built-in 4G mobile internet modem that supports the LMT 4G network frequency, and you also need to be in the LMT 4G coverage area.

Options

Sending text messages from a computer program

• Before using LMT services, please read the data processing information provided by LMT. As a data controller, LMT pays the greatest attention to these issues. As part of the services provided by LMT, we process data only in the necessary amount and period, which results from the nature of the service and the requirements of the binding laws and regulations. As part of the "Mobile W-Fi" service, basic data can be processed, such as connection number, etc., as well as electronic communications metadata, including load data – information related to the provision of electronic communications services. The purpose of the data to be processed is to carry out the execution of the selected service, including ensuring the related quality, payments and solving the reported issues, if they arise, as well as the execution of the binding laws and regulations. The basis of data processing is the requested LMT service and the implementation of related laws and regulations. Such processing is a prerequisite for the execution of the transaction, and failure to provide data may partially or completely delay or terminate the provision of the transaction. With regard to his or her data, the LMT customer has the right to exercise the rights set forth in the laws and regulations. • In order to ensure the best possible customer experience and more complete possibilities of using LMT services, during the use of services LMT can contact you (by phone, by sending a text message, e-mail or a message in the internet browser) about issues of service administration and use.

Costs

• Mobile internet connection – free of charge.

• The fee for sending MMS to the Tele 2 and Bite network, the fee for text messages and premium services are not included in the fixed monthly fee.

• If you plan to use LMT mobile internet also outside Latvia or other EEA countries, please check the internet tariffs abroad in due time.

• You can send standard text messages in the LMT network for €0.0117, as well as use premium rate message services and send text messages to other networks (lv).

• MMS sending to Tele2 and Bite network – 0.05 €/unit.
