The 5G-Routes project is an international future mobility initiative to develop innovative and commercially exploitable CAM (connected and automated mobility) use cases and ensure cross-border automated mobility. The project’s consortium gathers 22 partners from 9 European countries, with LMT being one of them.
In his presentation on the 5G Techritory‘s Techflix stage, Lindenbergs described the main goals and planned activities of the 5G-Routes project. As told by Arturs, reaching the main objectives of the project requires installing various infrastructure components, conducting trials and demonstrations, and contributing to standardization.
The project’s consortium partners will test 5 use cases in 3 trial sites across the Baltics. One of the sites – the 5G mobility testbed in the Biķernieki racetrack, Riga – will also become the first-ever cross-border mobility simulation space in Europe. It will use Latvia’s LMT and Estonia’s Telia 5G networks to imitate fully functioning international connectivity.
